A word about digital images Computer based images are produced in a variety of formats: JPEG, BMP, TIF, and others, depending on your particular device and system software configuration. Many of the formats used are designed to compress images into smaller sizes to conserve disk space on your computer. In the process, the compression process discards valuable picture information. The compression formulas used invariably produce an image that is smaller in size but compromised in quality. Tilepix can work with digital images sent to us in almost any format (JPG and other compressed images must be in either uncompressed or minimum compression or highest quality format). TIF and other uncompressed images are ideal. Consult the instructions for your particular imaging device or software for instructions on how to create/save images in these formats. For questions or additional information about properly formatting your digital images for use in our tile creation process, Contact our image experts at Tilepix.
